WordPress to Council Platform migration graphic.

The 2.10.0 release of the Platform passed testing earlier this week and is already in use on some production sites.

The primary goal of the release was to upgrade the underlying Drupal CMS version to ensure sites remain secure. Outside of that, the release also adds functionality to automatically migrate content from an existing WordPress site.

This was required as part of a site build for a new housing association client. The scripts cover WordPress's core data types (i.e. Posts, Pages, Files and Users) and can be reused in the future to provide an advanced starting point for migrating WordPress based sites to run on the Platform. This reduces the cost barrier for migrating from WordPress to Council Platform, so if you run a WordPress based site and want to move away from it, then please get in touch.
